Celebrate movement possibilities and learn how to achieve maximum expression with minimum effort.
This movement workshop is for every body. Men and women of all shapes, sizes, and degrees-of-flexibility are welcome. Whether you dance for a living or not at all, this workshop is for you. Whether you want to study and refine your movements or move with spontaneity and abandon, you will experience both extremes and everything in between during this workshop. In short, this course allows you to experience the joy, freedom, intrigue and excitement of moving in new ways.
Christine Sullivan is a certified Alexander Technique teacher. Motivated by the belief that the mime, dance, and Alexander techniques are good for everyone (not just professional movers and performers), Karen and Christine explain and teach these techniques in ways that reveal their far-reaching benefits and applications to everyday life. No matter what you do for a living, this course will help you move toward your goals, increase your productivity, enhance your performance and bring more ease, agility and style into your activities.
In addition: For students who would like to develop their own performance pieces during the week, we will include some optional evening scene studies. This will provide an opportunity to share works-in-progress with the instructors and the rest of the class and receive feedback.
